Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Inc. - Cridersville on May 25, 2025.
Robert LeRoy Miller II, 74, of Union, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025, at the St. Elizabeth Hospice Center in Edgewood, Kentucky with his wife by his side. Born in Lima, Ohio, on August 19, 1950, Bob was the son of the late Robert LeRoy and Betty (Myers) Miller.
Bob lived a full and purposeful life, grounded in hard work, curiosity, and unwavering love for his family. He began his career at Pangles Master Markets in
Cridersville, Ohio, where he became store manager, working full time while attending Ohio State University. His strong work ethic and drive led him through a variety of roles, including Realtor and oil rig worker in Midland Texas, before finding his professional home at The Southland Corporation in 1981. That opportunity grew into a nearly 30-year career, where he retired as Vice President of Dean Foods in Lakeland, Florida. Throughout his career, Bob received many awards, recognizing his dedication, excellence, and contributions.
On October 31, 1971, Bob married Vicki Lynn Carter. Together, they built a life centered on family and unconditional love. For more than five decades, they navigated life hand in hand, supporting each other through every challenge and celebrating every joy. Bob took great pride in encouraging his family, always ready to lend a hand, share wisdom, or quietly work behind the scenes to help them reach their goals and become the best versions of themselves.
Bob was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and building things with his hands. He was also an avid collector of antique carpentry tools and coins. Always eager to learn, Bob never missed a chance to talk to those around him or take on a new hobby or project, especially if it was something he could share with his children or grandchildren. His natural ability with dogs was remarkable; animals were drawn to his calm presence, and he had a deep appreciation for observing and training them.
He was a 32nd degree Freemason and once a proud member of the Cridersville Lions Club, where he enjoyed giving back to his community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Betty Miller, and his sister Diana Harner. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Vicki; his sons, Robert Shane Miller (Kristen) of Boulder, Colorado and Blaine Wyatt Miller (Laura) of Brandon, Florida; and his treasured grandchildren: Avery, Adelyn, and Owen. He is also survived by his sisters: Nancy Williams of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Jeannie Thies of Lima, Ohio; and Linda Sealscott of Celina, Ohio.
Bob's favorite sayings, "Well, that's that," and "It is what it is," reflected his practical wisdom and calm outlook on life. His legacy of love, strength, and generosity will continue to live on in the lives he touched.
A viewing will be held at Bayliff and Son Funeral Home, located at 311 West Main Street,
Cridersville, Ohio 45806, 5-7pm on Friday, May 30, 2025, followed by a masonic service. The funeral will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30am with Gene Zammer, a longtime friend and work colleague, will deliver the eulogy.
