Charles Robert (Bob) Monday, age 93, moved on to heaven on the morning of December 31st. Charles was born and raised in the community of Roddy, TN and moved to Soddy Daisy after marrying and taking a job at Dupont.
He retired from Dupont after 40 years where he worked in the textile and maintenance departments. He could fix or build anything, even turning a 4 room concrete house into the home his family lived in for 60 years. He was a hard worker and good provider, a wonderful father and pappaw. He loved when his large family gathered for cookouts and holidays at his home, but most of all he loved sitting on his front porch swing from daylight to dark.
Charles was a member of Mile Straight Baptist Church and was active in the Golden Agers group for years, even driving the bus out west on an extended trip. In his younger years he loved to fish and hunt whenever he could.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dot; his parents, Charles Blaine and Bessie Ross Monday; his sisters, Maxine Sedman, Faye Bacon, and Irene Price; and his daughter, Letitia Rackley.
He is survived by his daughters Tanya Hollomon, Kim (Ray) Ragan, and Cindy (Lee) Wolff, as well as a bonus daughter, Amy (Alex) Lopez; grandchildren Christa (Tim) Kendrick, Travis (Leah) Rackley, Rayna (Tom) Ritter, Sara (Shay) Wilson, Alexis (Russell) Wright, Susan (Mike) Pitts, and AIicia (Chris) Releford; great grandchildren Ethan and Emma Kendrick, Allie and Cora Rackley, Clark Ritter, Lucy and Raylan Wilson, Bennett and Beau Wright, Mateo Lopez, Makayla and Braison Pitts and Brianna Knight, Annie Garcia and Aven Welch, and Loftin and Paizlin Norton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and he will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the Soddy Daisy Health Care Center for their care and help over the last 6 months, as well as Hearth Hospice. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in his memory to Mile Straight Baptist Church or to Hearth Hospice.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Tommy Goss officiating. Burial will follow at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
