Bobbie Joe Asbury, 86, of Dale City, VA. passed away peacefully at Sentara hospital in Woodbridge on September 30, 2025.
He was born in Wyenoke, W.VA. to Bert & Mary Asbury on April 6, 1939 where he grew up with his five cherished sisters.
Bobbie proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1957-1960. He later settled in Alexandria, VA. where he met, then married the love of his life, Gladys, in 1965 and had 2 children. He had a dedicated 35-year career at Safeway from which he retired in 2003. During his life, Bobbie enjoyed a simple life spending time at home with his family, but also fishing, hunting, working on cars, going to the movies, the yearly Asbury family reunions, trips to the Great Smokey Mountains, and walking in the park.
Bobbie is preceded in death by his parents, Bert & Mary, his beloved wife of 44 years, Gladys, sisters: Ruby Lewis and Betty Shrewsbury, and brothers-in-law: Paul Kiser, Lynniel Shrewsbury and Russell Brown.
He is survived by his children, son, Jeff Asbury and daughter, Michelle Noble (Dave Noble); his sisters: Helen Cecil (Ralph Cecil), Barbra Brown & Brenda Kiser, granddaughter, Nicole Noble and 2 great-grandchildren Zane & Emma. He is also survived by many adored nieces & nephews.
Bobbie was a wonderful son, father & brother. He will be forever loved & forever remembered.
