Bobbie Milton Cox

Bobbie Milton Cox, 67, of Carthage, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

He was born on January 7, 1958, to Bobbie and Carol Collier Cox in Moore County. He spent his early years in Massachusetts. He later returned to Moore County after serving in the US Air Force. Bobbie worked as an Operations Manager for the Moore County Airport for 38 years. He married Mary Ellen Neuhauser on September 20, 1980.

Bobbie enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad, brothers, and then his son. He enjoyed traveling with his family and watching his children have fun. When the grandkids came along, he loved reading to them and learned a lot about Bluey. He so enjoyed singing in the church choir and being a deacon. He served in the nursery alongside his wife, where he was an expert at handing out snacks. Bobbie's humor would make anyone laugh.

Bobbie is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Mary Ellen; two daughters, Celia Cox of Carthage, NC, Shelia Stigers of Aberdeen, NC; son, David Cox of Southern Pines, NC; two sisters, Donna Black of Asheboro, Cathy Freeman of Carthage, NC; two brothers, Billie Cox of Dover, DE, Charlie Cox of Carthage, NC; three grandsons, Arlo Stigers, Gatlin Stigers, Anders Stigers; Granddaughter, Bryn Stigers; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bobbie C. Cox.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to Gentiva Hospice or Yates-Thagard Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church in Carthage, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. at Yates-Thagard Baptist Church, with Pastor Steve Johnson and Pastor Sammy Frye officiating.

The family cannot thank the friends, family, and church family for all the support and prayers. Our Hospice nurses helped during such a tough time. They truly were our angels and helped when we could not help him. Thank you for giving Bobbie his wish to be at home.
