Bobbie Souer, 75, Of Delta died Friday, May 9, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 am at Bethel Cemetery near Hayesville. Memorials may be directed to The Keswick Legion. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of What Cheer is in charge of the arrangements.
Bobbie Dale Souer was born on June 27, 1949 near Delta, Iowa the son of Doyle and Gladys Ross Souer. He graduated from Tri-County High School in 1967 and moved to Des Moines, Iowa where he worked for a short time at UPS, before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He served a year and 8 months as a tank mechanic in Thailand Where he met his wife to be Torn Boonthawee. They were married November 28, 1969 in Thailand. After his military service, he farmed for a short time before working at Wausau Homes in Ottumwa, Iowa. He left Wausau Homes to open his own mechanic shop. Unfortunately, he was in a tragic car accident which left him a paraplegic. He and Torn spent many winters in south Texas. He enjoyed fishing and bird watching.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years Torn Souer, and two brothers, Wayne of Delta, Iowa and Keith of Ottumwa, Iowa, plus ten nieces and nephews. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth (K-9) Souer and an infant sister Ethel Mae Souer.
