Arna Kitzmann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Holland-Coble Funeral Home - What Cheer on Feb. 24, 2026.
Arna Kitzmann, 74 of Montezuma died Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 beginning at 11:00am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer. Visitation will be held from 9:00am - 11:00, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Keswick Fire and Rescue. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of What Cheer is in charge of arrangements.

Arna was born on October 15, 1951 in Grinnell, Iowa. She attended school in Montezuma, Iowa. In November of 1967, she married John Clark. To this marriage, two sons were born, Mike and Jermey. Arna and John later divorced in 1974. In June of 1977, she married Frank Kitzmann, they became the parents to daughters, Amy and Amanda.

Arna built a life centered around family, simple joys, and the things that made her smile. She had a special talent for finding treasures at garage sales, often turning a casual Saturday outing into a full adventure. Her regular trips to Oskaloosa were another source of comfort and routine, this little escape brought her joy as she loved to add a little adventure in everyday moments.

Arna and Frank had a love for a good game of Yahtzee. Long before the kids woke up in the early morning hours, the two of them would sit at the table rolling dice, laughing, and enjoying a few rounds together. There will be a lasting memory, always remembers waking to the soft clatter of dice, an unmistakable soundtrack of love, routine, and companionship.

One of Arna's greatest delights was traveling to Las Vegas, where she embraced the lights, the energy, and especially the thrill of gambling. Whether she was at a slot machine or a bingo table, she brought her own spark to every room she entered.

She kept a tight circle, with "her people" and within that group, she was social, loyal, and completely herself. Those who were part of her world knew they were loved in a way that was steady, honest, and uniquely hers. In recent years, she found peace and creativity in coloring and bead art, spending quiet hours making beautiful pieces that reflected her imagination.

Arna is survived by her sons, Mike Clark and Jermey Clark; her daughters, Amy Kitzmann and Amanda Moennich; Grandchildren, Tim Clark, Cadan Clark, Makayla Clark, Johnny Smith, Aaron Kitzmann, Bryson Arduser and Tyler Moennich. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jennie and Walter Fisch and W. Arnold Dobbs; her grandsons, Kaleb Clark and Cody Clark; her brother, David Fisch.
