Bobbie Sue Walker Wright, a beloved member of the Goodlettsville community and a dedicated family matriarch, passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on March 19, 1934, Bobbie lived a life rich with love, determination, and a spirit of resilience that she carried into all her endeavors.
Bobbie was a proud and retired school bus driver for Sumner County, where she served the community with great care and commitment.
An outstanding athlete in her youth, Bobbie excelled in basketball and also enjoyed playing tennis, softball, and running track.
Family was at the core of Bobbie's existence. She is survived by her children, Freddie D. Wright, Jr.; Susan Mechelle Cole (Grant); and Benjamin Clark Wright (Kellee). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Olivia (Jessica) Cole, Amelia Cole, and Jorden (Tyler) McDonald, two beloved great-grandchildren, her sister, Billie Ruth Brown; and her brother, Jesse Walker Bobbie was also surrounded by numerous nieces and nephews who adored her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Freddie D. Wright; and her parents, Ruth Agnes Walker and Jesse William Walker.
Visitation services will be held at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Goodlettsville on January 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on January 13, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow on the same day from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
The family invites friends and loved ones to join in honoring Bobbie Sue Wright, a woman whose love and spirit have touched so many lives. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
