Bobby Bailey

Bobby Duane Bailey, age 87, of Wright City, Oklahoma, died Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at the McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma. He was born on Friday, November 19, 1937, to Brandon Cole and Mary Catherine DeWitt Bailey in Wright City, Oklahoma.

Bob was a proud son of Wright City, Oklahoma, where he was born, raised, and always called home. He built an honest life through hard work, beginning at the Wright City Lumber Mill cutting logs for contractors, and later working in maintenance at the Valliant Paper Mill until his retirement.

Even after retiring, Bob remained busy doing the things he loved most-working on chainsaws, rebuilding old cars, and taking pleasure in bringing them back to life. He also found joy and peace in the outdoors, whether wading the creeks and rivers with a fishing pole or heading into the woods for deer hunting.

Above all, Bob loved his family and treasured every moment spent with them. His legacy is one of hard work, simple pleasures, and a deep love for the people and place he called home.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Bailey; one daughter, Lillie Hill and one grandson, Cole Rodgers.

Bob is survived by his three sons and daughter-in-law, Burnis Bailey of Wright City, Oklahoma; Joe and Kendra McIntyre of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Darren Engler of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; four daughters and sons-in-law, Kathy Rodgers of Broken Bow, Oklahoma, Jan and Steve Devore, Idabel, Oklahoma, Cindy and Billy Oehler of Broken Bow, Oklahoma and Lisa Engler of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; his brother and sister-in-law, Fred "Bear" and Inez Bailey of Antlers, Oklahoma; special friend, Joann McIntyre of Broken Bow, Oklahoma; sixteen grandchildren; twenty seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; several other nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025, at 2:00 P.M. at The Green Chapel Assembly of God in Wright City, Oklahoma, with Brother Lynn Gaskey officiating. Interment will follow in the Joe Slater Memorial Cemetery with arrangements entrusted to Bowser Family Funeral Home in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. No visitation is scheduled.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Rodgers, Joshua Rodgers, Jaye Rodgers, Dustin Goss, Bobby Goss, and Darren Engler.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Connor Goss and Billy Felker.
