Robert "Bobby" Dale Beckmann Sr., 56, passed away on July 14, 2025, at Ascension Seton Williamson Hospital in Round Rock, Texas.
Born at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Austin, Texas, on March 31, 1969, Bobby spent his life in many places – mostly in Texas, Michigan, and Oregon. Through all the changes, his family remained at the forefront of his life.
He is survived by his two children, Kathrine "Katie" Ann Marie Beckmann and Robert "Bo" Dale Beckmann Jr.; his grandchildren, Roselynn Anna Maye and Elizabeth Marie; his parents, Katherine (Robinson) Bertram and William Beckmann Sr.; and his siblings, Charles "Chuck" Beckmann, Sherry Powell, Susan Caudle, William "Chris" Beckmann Jr., Aaron Bertram, and Nicki Bertram. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy (Johnson) Beckmann, and his sister, Mechelle Beckmann Kovach.
Bobby was known for his burly and tough exterior – but those who knew him best understood there was more underneath, especially when it came to his late wife, children, and grandchildren. He wasn't one to make a big show of emotion, but he showed love in the way he cared for his wife through illness, by being there for family when asked, and by spending countless hours in the kitchen making sure there was enough food to be had during the holidays – especially the banana pudding.
He'll be remembered for his loyalty to the people he loved, his love of Mountain Dew, and always wearing shorts, no matter the occasion. Let's all pour one out (of Mountain Dew) in his honor and think of him with every bite of banana pudding.
In accordance with his wishes, Bobby will be cremated and brought to rest alongside his late wife, Nancy, in Arkansas – reunited at last.
He was one of a kind – and he'll be missed. This isn't a forever goodbye, as he'd say every time he got off the phone, "Later".
