Mr. Bobby Stuart Bridges, 84, of Summit, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at his residence with his loving family by his side. He was born on February 20, 1938 in Monroe County, MS, to Joe Douglas Bridges and Edna Mae Otts Bridges.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one sister, Judy Marshall; two grandchildren, Ethan Fortenberry and C.J. Davis.
Survivors are his wife of 58 years, Florine Bridges; one daughter, Melissa Fortenberry (Paul); one son, Jeffery Bridges (Donna); one brother, Richard Bridges; three sisters, Joan Westbrook, Jean Patterson, and Nell Flippo; four grandchildren, Claire Hudson (Andrew), Kaitlin Fortenberry, Katelyn Davis, and Erin Davis; one great grandchild, Cooper Andrew Hudson; and a host of family and friends.
Pallbearers are Pat Temple, Bernie Booth, Ed Young, Jamie Wallace, Paul Fortenberry, and Andrew Hudson.
Honorary pallbearers are Denny Duck and Rusty Marsalis.
A graveside service will be held Monday, December 26, at Hollywood Cemetery beginning at 11AM with Bro. Jared Leonard officiating and Sharkey Funeral Home in charge of services.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to Mars Hill Baptist Church Building Fund 6145 N Greensburg Rd, Summit, MS 39666 or a charity of your choice.
