Bobby Lee Cantrell, age 70 of Calhoun, GA, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
Bobby was born on November 29, 1955 in Gordon County, GA, the son of the late Taylor Lee Cantrell and Winnie Moss Cantrell. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by: Craig Otting, Ansleigh Otting, and Eddie Woodall, who was more like a brother. Bobby grew up in Gordon County and was a proud graduate of Calhoun High School, Class of 1973. Before his retirement, he worked for many years as a salesman and consultant for various construction companies, building not only a career but lasting relationships along the way. He never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel at ease.
Bobby had a deep love for life and the simple joys it offered. He enjoyed traveling, eating good food, spending time with friends, and working on his land. Whether tending his garden, riding his tractor, or enjoying a bottle of Big Spring Water, he was happiest outdoors. His faith was the cornerstone of his life. He loved Jesus and attended Heritage Baptist Church. His faith guided his decisions and shaped the way he loved others.
He especially loved spending time with family and friends. He went out of his way to ensure every member of his family felt loved beyond measure. Nothing brought him more joy than his grandchildren; he could often be found picking them up from school, having dinner with them, or cheering them on from the sidelines of their games and activities, even if that meant traveling for hours to be there.
Bobby will be remembered for his strong faith, his love of family, and the joy he found in the everyday blessings of life.
Bobby is survived by: his children, Allison (Thomas) Sollicito and Justin (Tiffany) Cantrell; grandchildren, Wren Cantrell, Piper Cantrell, Avery (Lexi) Hopper, Bryson (Caroline) Hopper, Olyvia (Chase) Bonds, Ava Lauren Sollicito, Mason Cy Sollicito, Greyson Sollicito, Lily Sollicito Stacy, Madison (Daniel) Sollicito, Austin (Carson) Sollicito, Matthew Sollicito, Carleigh Otting, and Brodie Otting; ten great-grandchildren; his significant other, Mildred Jordan; special friends who were like family, Genia Woodall Kirby, Lori Woodall and Katrice Cruch; and his best friends, Rick Spivey and Jon Ludwig.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from 2 PM until 4 PM at Heritage Baptist Church.
