Bobby Glen (Bob) Carr
Bobby Carr of Bristol, TN went peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 5, 2025, at Johnson City Medical Center surrounded by loved ones, and in the remarkable care of Johnson City Medical Center staff.
Bob was born March 5, 1941 in Blountville, TN and has been a resident of Bristol, TN for the past 50 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army as a Motor Transport Operator, and a retired truck driver from Harris Trucking Co. He had a passion for gardening, woodworking, challenging jigsaw puzzles, and his beloved Tennessee Volunteers. He showed his support for every game in every sport. His greatest life’s blessings were his home and family.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Clyde Carr, mother Charmie Carr, sisters Lillian Leonard and Nancy Utsman, brother Buddy Carr, and grandson Brandon DeBold.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Barbara Johnson Carr, brothers Wayne Carr (wife Gloria), Bill Carr (wife Josie), and Harold Carr (wife Karen), along with sister Carolyn White (late husband Carl “Hoot”) and sister-in-law Doris Carr (late husband Buddy), children Robin DeBold, Jackie Dawn (husband Todd), Jimmy Carr, and Wendy Clark (husband Chad), and grandchildren Evan DeBold, Ryan DeBold, Justin Whittaker, Tanner Whittaker, Dalton Clark, Hannah Clark, along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held from 4-6 pm on September 20, 2025 at Sunnyside Baptist Church, 406 Cooks Valley Road, Kingsport, TN 37664.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his honor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, his favorite charity.
