Funeral services at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel, Walters, OK, Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., Edward Eschiti officiating with burial in the Walters Cemetery. Viewing at Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home in Walters Wednesday and Thursday 9:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Bobby Lee “Beau” Coombs was born to Melvin J. Coombs and Illa Mae (Long) Coombs on January 19, 1950 in Walters, OK and departed this life on October 6, 2025 in Temple, OK at the age of 75 years, 8 months, and 17 days.
Beau grew up in Walters and on the Barbe farm west of town on West Cache Creek. After graduating with the WHS class of 1968 he joined the ROTC program at Cameron College. He married Linda Diane Jones in 1974 in Oklahoma City and to the union two sons were born.
Through the years he farmed, harvested, butchered at Coombs Meat Company and did roofing with Bivins Roofing and Stapp Roofing. He loved joking around, creek fishing, OU football, and playing dominoes and horseshoes. He also loved music, playing drums and singing in a band and with friends like Scooter Bivins and others.
He is preceded in death by his parents Melvin Coombs and Illa Mae (Long) Barbe.
Survivors include his sons, Jeremy Coombs and Gloria of Walters, and Jason Coombs and Maria of Duncan; his brothers, Jimmy Coombs and Shay of Walters, and Jay Barbe and daughter Jayden of Walters; and a grandson, Jordan Coombs; many other family members and friends.
The Family would like to thank Temple Manor and Staff, Duncan Regional and Staff, and Dr Jeff Jones for the many years of care.
