Bobby Duncum Sr was born on August 14, 1944, in Austin, Texas. Bobby Eldon Duncum was born to his parents Willa Maye Duncum and Arnett Dauthitt Duncum. He grew up in South Austin and graduated from Travis High School. After that, he became a three-year Letterman with the West Texas A&M Buffaloes football team 1964-1966, and he was a student of the infamous coach Joe Kerbel. Bobby was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the NFL draft. He played for the Saint Louis Cardinals.

He debuted as a professional wrestler in 1968-1986 and traveled all over the country and even outside of the USA. Bob wrestled in Japan and had main event matches in Madison Square Gardens. Some of his legend matches were with Bruno Sammartino, Bob Backlund and Andre the Giant.

Some of his formidable foes, as well as friends in the ring were: Blackjack Mulligan, Hulk Hogan, Dusty Rhodes, the Funk Brothers, and Andre the Giant. Bobby retired from wrestling in1986.

Later in life Bobby was in Customer Service Relations for McMorris Ford when the dealership was on West 6th Street. Glenda, his dear wife was with McMorris Ford prior to Bobby and they worked together for several years. Glenda went on to be with the Lord in 2020.

Bobby continued to stay strong, but with an increasing bout with neuropathy, he became weak during the last few years of his life. He loved to reminisce about football with his grandsons; he was telling them how to play, even up to a month before he passed! He was tough, and he fought through a lot of adversity while in pain. The nurses would say things like "Are you flirting with me"? when they were caring for him, and they did treat him with great care.

He is survived by his sister Dell Milstead who is now 95 years strong., Bobby's younger son Duane Duncum and daughter-n-law Nicole Duncum, granddaughter Tyler Duncum Saathoff, grandsons Bobby Rush Duncum and Benjamin Jay Duncum, granddaughter Cassidy Duncum Losey, her husband Kyle and Bobby's great grandson's Briar and Bridger Losey, nephews Ricky Wayne Duncum, Russell Lee Duncum, Jimmy Dale Milstead, Jimmy Weldon Milstead and Kevin James Milstead. His little dog "Hey You" who now lives with Duane and Nicole. Those that have gone before are his wife Glenda Duncum, his older son Bobby Edward Duncum, mother Willa Maye Climber and Father Arnett Duncum, and grandson Austin Reade.
