Bobby Joseph Dupuis, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at The Carpenter House in Lafayette, Louisiana. He was born on November 28, 1947, in Pecaniere, Louisiana.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. Father Darren Eldrigde will officiate the service. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the Skip Montet Memorial Chapel at Lafond-Ardoin Funeral Home of Opelousas. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday in the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. The family requested a private inurnment.
Bobby had a career as a senior service supervisor in the oilfield. However, above all his professional accomplishments, Bobby was known for his unwavering love for his family. He cherished every moment spent together, often emphasizing the importance of family gatherings, which brought him great joy and fulfillment. Bobby enjoyed hunting and sports, but most of all loved spending time at the camp.
Bobby leaves behind his beloved wife, Virginia "Ginny" Dupuis; his sons, David Dupuis (Paula) of Breaux Bridge, La., and Brett Dupuis (Charlene) of Leonville, La.; his daughter, Holly Dupuis Vidrine (Ronnie) of Grand Prairie, La.; and his sister, Judy Meche (Leo) of Leonville, La. He was a proud grandfather to Megan (Keith), Morgan (Joe), Mallory (Grant), Camille (Ellis), Macy, Dylan, Brodie, and Justin (Chloe). His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren, Sophia, Viviann, Kamden, Greyson, Emery, Roman, Hudson, Eli, Taylor, Payton, and Katelyn and his loyal and faithful Australian Shepherd, Cody, who brought immense joy to his life.
He was preceded in death by his loving in-laws, Rufus and Vivian Hebert; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lynwood and Elsie Hebert; sister-in-law, Jacqueline Hebert Mahmoudi; his goddaughter, Rachel Meche Hollier; and his beloved boxer, Rosey.
Bobby Joseph Dupuis will be fondly remembered for his unyielding love for family. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
