Bobby Hugh Sneed, age 89, peacefully passed away on October 26, 2023, in Nashville, TN. He was born on December 12, 1933, in Columbia, TN. to the late John L. Sneed and Lola Lovell Sneed. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Laquita Joy Sneed and first wife of 25 years, Linda Keltner Sneed, his brothers, Ronald Sneed, John “Toby” Sneed and Morris Lovell Sneed, sisters, Margie Sneed Sweeney, and Lilly Estelle Sneed Witherspoon.
Survived by his sons, Jeffrey Hugh, and Bobby Todd (Mary) Sneed, grandchildren, Bobby Todd Sneed, II., (Erin), John Douglass (Tosha) Sneed, Kathleen Elizabeth (Eric St. John) Sneed, William Fulton Sneed, Madison (Chris) Szabo and Dr. Chandler Ryan Sneed, great grandchildren, Summer Sneed-Lynch, John William Sneed, Lily Sneed, Benjamin Richard Sneed, May Horkey, Ellie Perez and Tarryn Meadows, sister, Christine Barlar, brother, Donald Sneed amongst several loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Bobby's military service as a 1st Lieutenant in the 1st Calvary Division in the ARMY from 1957-1964 showcased his selflessness and bravery. His dedication to serving his country was truly commendable. Bobby made a significant impact during his 28-year tenure as a Claim Supervisor at AETNA. As well as his passion for law, that led him to become an Attorney and dedicated 25 years to serving clients with integrity and unwavering dedication. His commitment to excellence and exceptional work ethic earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike.
Outside of work and military service, Bobby's heart belonged to Bellevue United Methodist Church in Nashville for over four decades, he was an active member and role model within the congregation. His unwavering faith was a testament to his character and provided guidance throughout his life.
Bobby's passion for community engagement extended beyond the church walls as he invested time in the Bellevue Lions Community Club. Bobby’s unwavering love for his family farm in Maury and Giles County. Working on the farm was not just a job for him; it was a way of life that brought him joy and fulfillment. He dedicated countless hours to raising cattle and horses. He had a green thumb when it came to gardening. His ability to cultivate beautiful flowers and bountiful crops was truly remarkable.
Honorary Pallbearers serving are his loving cousins and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's memory to Bellevue United Methodist Church.
To honor Bobby's life, a Visitation will be held on October 30, 2023, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at Harpeth Hills Memory Garden, Funeral Home, & Cremation Center located at 9090 TN-100 in Nashville, TN. with a Celebration of Life to follow at 11:30 am.
