Bobby Graham Hart of
Woodruff, SC went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 26, 2026, he was 82 years old. He was married to Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Oswald Hart and celebrated 46 years of life together.
Bobby was born in
Union, SC on April 20, 1943, to the late Graham Hart and Pearl Cody Hart and graduated from Union High School in 1963 where he played football and was also a school bus driver. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp after graduation and after his military service worked for and retired from General Electric Gas Turbine Plant in
Greenville, SC in 2002 after 33 years. Bobby met Debbie while they both worked at GE. They married in 1980, lived in
Duncan, SC for 24 years and after retiring moved to the country where they enjoyed their life together for the next 22 years.
He was a life-member Master Mason of the Brandon Masonic Lodge 279 (formerly Judson Masonic Lodge 319) and became a HEJAZ Shriner after completing the required Scottish Rites of Freemasonry. He was also a life-member of the American Legion Post 33 in Woodruff having joined in 2006 and holding the office of 1st Vice Commander. During his tenure with the Post, in addition to his Post responsibilities, Bobby enjoyed assisting the Commander with preparing and cooking for the Post events and local fundraisers, such as the hash sales and Friday-night chicken wings. Soon after the continued success of these events, the Commander turned the management of the kitchen over to Bobby – he was in his element and just loved cooking for the Post.
Throughout his life Bobby enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, playing ASA slow-pitch softball for GE (he was the pitcher) and golf and sharing time spent doing these with his closest friends. At home he loved any yardwork that would mean riding his tractor and his zero-turn mower (he called his 'toys'). He learned to square dance so he could dance with Debbie, he claimed to have 2-left feet and in square dancing "your hands dance/pull you through and your feet just follow", so he said. He also held a special place in his heart for his SS-Group family, each of whom meant so much to him.
His greatest joy was teaching, playing with and just being Papa to his grands and great-grandchildren and watching them grow up. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sisters, Hazel Ford of Columbia, SC and Ann Hart of
Union, SC, a sister-in-law DeLois Hart of Texas; five grandchildren, Alexandra Nichols (Mark), Taylor Bailey (Christian), Seth Nichols, Ethan Nichols, and Logan Inman; ten great-grandchildren, Maddie, M.J., Khalajah, Aniyah, Raelynn, Paisley, Lillie, Rilee, Aidan, and a new great-granddaughter who is expected in the summer; his two beloved dogs, Naomi and Bleu who he loved to spoil and pamper; and several nieces and nephews in Columbia SC, Hampstead NC and Houston TX. He was predeceased by two daughters, Kellie Inman and Kristy Nichols; and three brothers, Neal Hart (Texas), Lloyd Hart (Union), Gene Hart (North Carolina).
A celebration of Bobby's life, with Military Honors, will be held at a future date at the American Legion Post 33 in Woodruff.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Bobby's honor may be made to organizations or charities of your personal choice.
