Bobby Austin Hill, 87, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of San Antonio, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, passed away January 22, 2026. He was born October 9, 1938, in Soper, Oklahoma, to Curtis A. Hill and Lillian Sue Huff.

Bob graduated from Duncan High School in Oklahoma at age 17 after completing specialty training in custom auto air conditioning, transmission repair, and fiberglass repair. He worked throughout his life as a mechanic, lineman, cowboy, and for a time with Halliburton. He retired at age 62 as a construction superintendent and later spent many years doing "hotshot" deliveries, driving over 750,000 miles to 46 states.

Bob came to a strong relationship with the Lord in 1999 at the Country Church of Marion. He loved cooking and serving others at church events and gatherings. He enjoyed Western novels, Bible study, country music, dancing, cruising, and was well known for his perfectly curled mustache and great sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rita; brothers Millard Hill and Flavius Hill; and great-granddaughter Alba Shay.

He is survived by his wife of over 16 years, Penney; half-sister Donna Sue Hancock; half-brother Richard Wolfe; sister-in-law Virge Hill; children and stepchildren Brett Hill, Rick Stine, Lisa Penn (Gary), Ray Sunday (Lou Ann), Paula Sunday (Dave), Connie Hendry, John Lindsay (Melissa), Rene Vardaman (Jay), John Paul Stap, Fredde Stap, and Marke Stap (Cari); 22 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; several cousins; and many friends. Charlie Groth of San Antonio was considered an adopted son.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m., February 7, 2026, at The Country Church of Marion, 1005 West FM 78.
