Bobby Eugene Hill

Bobby E. Hill, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on March 11, 1933, in Greensboro, NC, Bobby lived a life full of service, dedication, and love, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Bobby served his country with honor in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict, where he not only protected his nation but also showcased his athletic prowess by playing baseball around the world. Upon returning to Greensboro, he applied his skills as a brick mason and carpenter before dedicating 33 years of his career as the building inspector for the City of Greensboro. His work helped shape the very foundations of the community he cherished.

A man of many passions, Bobby loved the outdoors and found peace at the beach. Known for his warmth and friendliness, he never met a stranger and was always ready to share a meal or a story with family and friends. A community servant at heart, Bobby was a long-time member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he worshipped and contributed to the congregation's growth. He was also the oldest living member of American Legion Cone Post 386 and a proud 32nd degree Mason.

Bobby was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Martha Hill, and his siblings, Marie Lloyd, Dorothy Leonard, and Jim Hill. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Vickie Hill and Tracy Hill, and his loving sisters, Frankie Ann Kallam and Charlene Michaels. His legacy continues through a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and his dedicated caregiver, Jeanie Krulish, who has become a cherished member of the family.

A celebration of Bobby's life, complete with military honors, will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 1 PM at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3920 Baylor St, Greensboro, NC 27405. A reception will immediately follow the service at the church, where friends and family will gather to remember and honor a remarkable man who touched so many lives.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Bobby's memory to The Dementia Society of America. Bobby E. Hill will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for his unwavering kindness, dedication, and love for those around him.
