1947-2025

Bobby Holaday, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025.

He was born July 3, 1947 in Fresno, California, and later adopted by R.J. and Helen (Cline) Holaday. Bobby graduated from Elwood High School, then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served his country for 21 years.

Bobby married Leila Ruth Broce on January 26, 1968, and from this union six sons were born.

After retiring from the military, Bobby was a housing inspector at Fort Leavenworth, then later was a custodial engineer at Missouri Western State University.

He enjoyed working in his garden, and loved music, playing the piano and drums.

He loved the Lord and was a faithful church member, never missing a Sunday service.

Bobby was a good man known for his strength and dry sense of humor. He was a wonderful, loving husband and father, and his family was most important to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Diane Mitchell, Jerry Mulinex, and Charmain Bentrup.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Leila; sons, Curtis Holaday (Julie), Matthew Holaday, Brian Holaday, Jonathan Holaday (Melissa), Jason Holaday, and Joshua Holaday; grandchildren, Rachael, Daniel, Kenneth, Samuel, Brandon, Jordan, and Hannah Holaday; great-grandchildren, Jude, Evie, Sage, McKinley, Delaney, and Millie; siblings, Velma Pearl Cagle and Charlotte Burrough; half-siblings, Gary Brewer, Linda Bally, Patty Nicholson, Debbie Walker, and Allen Walker, Sharian Holt (Jerry), Patty Johnson, and Gene Mulinex; numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Service 10:00 A.M. Friday, Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Interment Blakely Cemetery, Easton, Missouri. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Online guest book and obituary at www.simplifyfunerals.com.
