Bobby Dean Irby Jr, husband, father, son, brother, friend, and lifelong adventurer, passed away on October 7th, 2025, surrounded by those who loved him most. He was happiest outdoors—fishing, boating, telling stories on the islands and river, or raising a toast at the hunting camp. Known as the last man to leave a good time, he loved Ole Miss and Pittsburgh Steelers football almost as much as sharing laughs and long days with friends and family. For over twenty years, he shared a desk with his brother Chad at Irby Bros, forming not just a working partnership but lasting memories.
Anyone who ever met Bobby will tell you — he had a gift for making life more fun. Whether he was telling a story, cracking a joke, or turning up his favorite AC/DC song (and singing it at full volume), he had a way of making sure everyone around him was enjoying the moment just as much as he was. He loved loudly, lived fully, and never missed a chance to make others feel welcome. His famous back porch hangouts were a reflection of who he was — open doors, open heart, good music, and even better company. If you were there, you were family.
When he wasn’t on the porch, you could find him on his boat — his true happy place. It didn’t matter if it was the heat of July or the chill of January; every weekend, all year long, he was out on the water. The peace of the waves and the thrill of the open air brought him joy like nothing else. And when it wasn’t boating season (if there ever was such a thing for him), he found that same sense of peace in the woods, hunting and soaking in the quiet moments of nature
Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Kristen Irby; his 3 children, Miranda Beaugez (Garrett), Landon Irby, and Josie Irby; 3 stepdaughters, Kailee, Allison, and Emily Hilton; his granddaughter, Colby Peterson (who lovingly called him "Captain"); his mom and dad, Mr. Bobby Irby Sr and Mrs. Ada Irby; his brother Chad Irby (Stephanie); two nieces Eryn Irby and Lily Irby; and countless friends who will forever miss his booming laugh, big hugs, and boundless energy. Though the music may have quieted, his spirit will always echo through every laugh shared and every song sung a little too loud.
He leaves behind a legacy of laughter, warmth, and a spirit that could fill any room he entered. He will be missed by those who knew him, especially by his family, friends, and all those who had the fortune to enjoy a boat ride or game day by his side.
A celebration of Bobby’s life will be held on Monday, October 13, 2025, at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi, MS. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 4:30 pm, in the chapel. Following the service, a reception for family and friends will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, in the funeral home's reception area. In true Bobby Dean Irby Jr fashion, friends and family are invited to come as they are, share stories, and keep the good times rolling — just the way he would’ve wanted.
A private burial will be held Tuesday, October 14, at Coalville Cemetery.
