Bobby's first job was a paper route at the age of 13; he always talked about getting up early, rolling newspapers with his mom, and using his bike to deliver them. He then worked with his dad, Marion, at their business, Southern Supply Company, starting at the age of 16. Later he worked as the manager of O'Reilly Auto Parts for many years. After that, he worked at the Army Ammunition Plant, retiring with over 10 years of service. He was awarded an Achievement Medal for Civilian Service for his noteworthy contributions as a project team member. He also had a small mowing business that allowed him to build close relationships with members of the community that he loved.
Bobby had a passion for the Italian Festival, serving as committee member for 28 years, 8 of those as the chairman. Bobby was a long-time member of the McAlester Country Club. He served on the board from 1999 to 2007 and served 3 consecutive 2 year terms as president, from 1999 to 2005, then as past-president in 2006 and 2007. He was also a member of the McAlester Chamber of Commerce for many years, and also served as president.
Bobby loved and adored his family and friends. He enjoyed participating in any activity, committee, and organization that supported the community and helped grow and develop McAlester.
