On November 5, 2024 the Lord called Bobby Eugene Matney home.
He was born in Berwind West Virginia on March 22, 1940 to the late Jessie Lee Matney and Arminda Church Matney.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Heide Marie Matney; daughters Dorothy Matney Spinks (Hugh) of Waynesboro, Virginia, Diane Matney Dunning (Doug) of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Nanette Matney Turner (Brian) of Appomattox, Virginia; grandsons Bobby Dunning (Dabney) of Rustburg, Virginia, and Christopher Dunning of Lynchburg, Virginia, great grandsons, Everett and Leo Dunning of Rustburg, Virginia; brothers, Charlie and Paul Matney; sisters, Gay Patton, Linda Lucado and Joanne frame and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews, and friends, especially Andy Townsend.
Bobby served his country for 28 years. He retired from SunTrust bank. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family.
The family wishes to thank Visiting Angels, especially Sarah and Stephanie and also Centra Hospice especially Sherri.

Visitation will be at 12 P.M. with service following at 1 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Beulah Baptist Church Lynchburg, Virginia officiated by Dr. Dennis Hollingsworth.
