Bobby Melvin

Bobby G. Melvin, 95, formerly of Irving, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was born June 13, 1930, in West Frankfort, Illinois, to Cleo and Lorene Melvin.
Bobby spent most of his career as a car salesman, where he built a reputation for being sharp, dependable, and easy to talk to. He had a natural way with people and knew how to close a deal without making it feel like one. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing. Any time he could get out on the water was time well spent.
He was a practical man who valued family, showed up when it mattered, and kept things simple. He took pride in watching his family grow and never needed much to be content, just good company and a good story.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 49 years, Marilyn Melvin, his son, Paul Melvin and Great-granddaughter Asiah Hamilton. He is survived by his daughter, Vicki (husband Joe) Castilla; grandchildren Mandy (husband Mark) Franco, Misty (husband Brandon), and Chelsey Stripling; great-grandchildren Seth, Rylee, Autumn, Kinsley, Noah, Eddie, Ethan, and Aubrey Lee; and godchild Randy Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Colonial Funeral Home in Irving. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Memorial Garden in Irving.
