Bobby Methvin Obituary

Bobby Lee Methvin, 91, of Eros, passed away Monday, December 22, 2025, at Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home.

He was born February 10, 1934, at Anderson Flat, to Ralph Ransey and Lela Elitha Anderson Methvin. Bob was a graduate of Bruno High School, Class of 1953. Shortly after graduation, he married Miss Jo Ella Cunningham later that same year in Bruno, beginning a marriage that spanned 72 years and was marked by love, devotion, and a lifetime of working side by side.

He was a farmer his entire life, a calling he took great pride in. Bob spent many years as a dairy farmer before later transitioning to beef cattle. His work ethic was unwavering, and he remained faithful to the land and livestock he loved. In fact, he was still feeding cattle with his wife the day before his passing, a true testament to his dedication, strength, and commitment to the life he cherished.

Bob was a member of Bruno Baptist Church. He enjoyed coon hunting with his friends and loved basketball, especially watching his grandchildren play and cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks. Time spent with family and friends brought him great joy, and he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Danette Methvin; two brothers, Rufus Methvin and Ralph Cotton Methvin; four sisters, Joyce Markle, Nita VanZant, Cwilla Shahan, and Norma Jean Methvin; and a son-in-law, Billy Keeter.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 72 years, Jo Ella Methvin of Eros; a son and daughter-in-law, Ransey and Patty Methvin of Harrison; two daughters and a son-in-law, Judy and Steve Hobbs of Eros, and Debra Keeter of Cotter; nine grandchildren, Dustin Keeter, Alisha Benedict, Andrea Benedict, Amanda Schroder, Bryan Methvin, Shawna Hobson, Aaron Methvin, Cody Methvin, and Brylee Methvin; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Holt Memorial Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Dale Huskey officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Flat Cemetery at St. Joe under the direction of Holt Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Cody Methvin, Aaron Methvin, Bryan Methvin, Brylee Methvin, Dustin Keeter, and Brycen Benedict. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Hobbs, Bryan Benedict, Kyle Benedict, Karson Benedict, Shannon Schroder, Jerry Johnson, George Keys, Jimmy "Red" Millgen, Clint Morris, Mac Sasser, and Jim Morris.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Anderson Flat Cemetery Association, 3482 Highway 292, St. Joe, Arkansas 72675.

Bob was a salt of the earth kind of person. Always so kind, caring and ready to help anyone in need. His passion for his cattle was evident every time you talked to him and it´s a testament that he spent his last days taking care of them. My condolences to Jo Ella, Ransey, Judy, Debbie and his entire family. Prayers for peace and comfort in the days ahead.
