COOKEVILLE CHAPEL - Bobby Andrew Phy, affectionately known as Andy, passed away on Tuesday November 5, 2024, at the age of 56. Born on September 26, 1968, in Cookeville, TN, Andy was a beloved member of his community and an adoring family member.
Andy was the loving son of Carolyn and Lewis Chaffin and the late Bobby Phy. He was also a cherished brother to Stefanie Eldridge, Julie (Clay) Massa and Ron Chaffin. Known for his kind heart and welcoming nature, he never met a stranger, establishing connections wherever he went. Andy's affection extended beyond his immediate family; he took particular delight in spending time with his nieces and nephews: Chris (Adrienne) Meadows, Mara (Seth) Lish, Alex (Jennifer) Chaffin, Maci Massa(William). Meanwhile, his great nephews, Mason Massa, and Makon Massa, Talan and Wyatt Meadows, and great nieces, Rosie Lish and Palmer Chaffin, brought him immense joy.
Andy was not only a devoted family man but also a proud neighbor and friend. He exemplified a spirit of generosity and warmth, possessing a big heart that left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him. His passions included fishing and hunting, activities that connected him to nature and provided precious moments of camaraderie with loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Phy, and his grandparents, Adrian and Irene Bush, Thurman and Dimple Phy. He is survived by his uncle James Bush, and aunts Mary Dubose, Doris Robbins, Claudine Talley & Emogene Pritchard.
A funeral service to honor Andy will be at 3pm Sunday November 10 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation for friends and family will be Sunday from 1-3pm.
Serving as pallbearers are Greg Allen, Jay Boswell, Jamie Hawkins, Kevin King, Mike Martin, Chris McCormick, Tommy Phy, Chris Rittenberry, and Mark Wilmoth.
Honorary pallbearers are Barry Bush, Chris Meadows, Clay Massa, Danny Robbins, Donny Robbins, Frank Meadows, Gary Bush, Makon Massa, Mason Massa, and Tripp Phares.
