Bobby Dean Rice, 75, of Rutherfordton, N.C. went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 8, 2025. He was born on January 6, 1950, in Shelby, N.C. to the late Andrew Jackson Rice Jr. and Virginia Dare Ross Rice.

Mr. Rice served his country Honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He loved the planes that he aviated, such as the C-141, and the C-130 during Vietnam. He loved bush hogging on his tractor, but most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dorthy Ann Dickson Rice, of Rutherfordton, N.C.; daughter, Wendy Gail Rice Elder, of Fort Mill, S.C.; son, Paul David Rice, of Inman, S.C.; sister, Judy Ann LaPointe, of Easley, S.C.; brother Darrell Lee Rice, of Chesnee, S.C.; four grandchildren, Taylor Breaux, Shelby Adams, Colton Phillips, and Ethan Rice; and great granddaughter, Josie Rae Adams.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at The J.F. Floyd Mortuary of Boiling Springs. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Heritage Memorial Gardens in Roebuck, S.C. with Pastor Clay Collins officiating.

United States Air Force/American Legion Post 200 Honors will be rendered at the graveside, with Anthony Brock, Brendan Ray, Colton Phillips, Josh Adams, Ethan Rice, and Tom Elder serving as Pallbearers.
