William Alex “Billy” Battle passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 24, 2026, during a winter storm, surrounded by his loving wife and daughter. He was the son of the late Herschel Lawson Battle and Barbara Jean Seay Battle.
Born on January 19, 1962, on a snowy day, Billy brought warmth and joy into the lives of those who knew him from the very beginning. He was a kind-hearted, outgoing soul who never met a stranger. Billy loved fishing and camping and found great peace outdoors. He also had a deep love for animals and cherished his pets dearly.
Billy was devoted to the love of his life, Barbara J Battle with whom he shared 45 years of marriage. Their love story began when she was just 15 years old, and together they built a life rooted in love, commitment, and devotion. He was a loving and dedicated father who cherished his daughter, Stacy, beyond measure.
Billy was especially cherished by his aunts Gail Seay, Linda Jackson, and Peggy Battle Biggerstaff who adored him deeply. As the first baby boy born into the family, they often spoke of him as the most beautiful baby boy.
In addition to his wife and daughter Billy is also survived by his in-laws, Christy Walker,(Adam), Thomas Jackson (Lisa), and Randy Jackson along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
