Bobby E. Smith was born January 1, 1938 in Quapaw, Oklahoma, one of two sons to Ellis Benjamin and Josephine M. (Kaufman) Smith. He entered into rest on January 21, 2023 at his home in Neosho, at the age of 85. Bobby worked as a welder and supervisor at Halliburton in Coffeyville, Kansas and Davis, Oklahoma. He then worked as an over the road truck driver until his retirement. He loved his family and spending time with them and was of the Baptist Faith. Bobby and Candace Gail (Evans) were united in marriage on June 7, 1971 and she preceded him in death on December 2, 2009. He is survived by four children, Bobbie Bohner and husband, Robert of Verona, Missouri, Lenny Smith and Jaci George of Oswego, Kansas, Kelly Gresham and wife, Jenny of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Kerry Weldon of Marietta, Oklahoma; one brother, Ben Smith of Neosho, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Karyle Barnett and husband, Jack of Clarksville, Arkansas and other family. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Stanley Smith, a daughter, Bryane Friend and sister-in-law, Sandy Smith. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023 from 4 pm to 5 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, c/o Clark Funeral Home, PO Box 66; Neosho, MO 64850.
