Bobby Lee Smith, age 60, of Blue Rapids, passed away at his home in Blue Rapids on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
Bobby Lee was born April 16, 1963, in Wichita, to Bobby Lee and Nancy L. (Burditt) Smith. After he left school Bobby Lee went to work for Stuart Lamoreaux building grain bins. He married Linda L. Wolf-Williams on April 22, 1989, at Swede Creek United Methodist Church south of Waterville. Bobby Lee was working at Sharp Manufacturing in Blue Rapids.
Bobby Lee was hard working, rarely stayed home sick and was never late to work. He loved working for Stuart, tinkering in his shop and didn’t mind doing Linda’s “honey do’s”. He loved camping, partying with friends, playing cards and poker night in his shop. He loved fixing up an old car for the figure eight races and demo derby. He loved getting together for family reunions and get togethers. He loved life, and good BBQ.
Survivors include his wife Linda, step-children, Bobby Lee (Desiderata) Williams of Blue Rapids and Larry (Nicki) Williams of Barnes, his mother Nancy L. Smith of Manhattan, three brothers: Paul (Mary) Smith of Wichita, Roy Smith of Manhattan, Lee (Missy) Smith of Marysville, two sisters, Patsy Trost of Toledo, Ohio and Linda (Richard) Inman of McPherson, seven grandchildren: Freedom, Destiny, Charity, Faith, Kaydyn, Merek and Janicka.
Preceding Bobby Lee in death was his father, Bobby Lee, and a sister Nancy Lynn Smith.
A Celebration of Life is planned for 11:00 am, Friday, December 15, 2023, at the Waterville Community Center. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to the Bobby Lee Smith Memorial and may be sent in care of Christie-Anderes Funeral Home at PO Box 61, Waterville, Kansas 66548.
