Michael “Mike” J. Pacha, age 88, of Marysville, Kansas, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, at Blue Valley Health and Rehabilitation in Blue Rapids, Kansas.

A visitation was held on Thursday, January 8, 2026, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary.

A rosary took place at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 9, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. A funeral service followed at 10:30 a.m.

Burial took place in Pecenka Cemetery, south of Bremen.

Mike was born May 13, 1937, in Marysville, Kansas, the son of John and Emily (Thierstein) Pacha. He attended grade school at St. Gregory’s Catholic School and graduated from Marysville High School in 1955. He continued his education at Benedictine College and Kansas State University before beginning his lifelong career as a farmer. Along with farming, Mike worked for a short time at Georgia-Pacific and Landoll, serving as one of Landoll’s first welders.

On April 13, 1964, Mike was united in marriage to Dorothy (Griffin) Seng in Garnett, Kansas. Together they raised four daughters: Janet, Linda, Kelly, and Lisa.

Mike had a love for horses. He enjoyed collecting and restoring military saddles and was a member of the Pony Express Riders for 43 years. He was a lifelong member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, served as a board member of the Marshall County Conservation District, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Preceding him in death is his wife, Dorothy; parents; sister, Rosemary; brothers, Bob, Dave, and an infant brother, Tom.

Survivors include his daughters, Janet K. Seng, Chicago, IL, Linda G. Seng-Noble, St. Louis, MO, Kelly M. (Pat) Schotte, Marysville, and Lisa A. Pacha, Manhattan, KS; six grandchildren, Brandon, Jacob, Tessa, Taylor, Emily, and Hadley; four great-grandchildren, Jude, Olivia, Richter, and Rory; and brother, Rich A. Pacha, Marysville.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, P.O. Box 147, Marysville, KS 66508.
