Bobby Ray Taylor, age 71, a resident of Ripley, TN, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home in Brownsville, TN with Bro. Jack Chapman officiating.  Following the service there will be a meal for the family at the Lauderdale Community Hospital Cafeteria at the old hospital.    

Bobby was born on December 14, 1951, in Springerton, IL to Dallas Ray Taylor and Hattie Leona Walker Taylor. He worked as a Medical Technologist at the Lauderdale Community Hospital in Ripley, TN. He had served as Medical Technologist in hospitals throughout Tennessee. He was an avid BBQ Competitor, and he enjoyed sharing his award-winning BBQ with friends and family. He finished BBQ Judging School, and he was a member of the Kansas City BBQ Society.  His BBQ team was called the Smokehouse Gang. He loved life and will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and fellow employees in the medical field. 

Bobby is survived by his wife of 45 years, Regina McKee Taylor; one brother, Robbie Taylor (Vickey); two grandchildren, Dustin James Dick (Kristen) and Vanessa Williamson (Travis); three great-grandchildren, Rylan Williamson, Rinny Beth Dick, Callen Dick; two step great-grandchildren, Ally Stoops (Steven) and Sidney Williams; one great-great-grandchild, Bailey Marlar.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Dick; his parents, Dallas and Hattie Taylor, and one brother, Donnie Ray Taylor.  All arrangements are under the direction of the Lea & Simmons Funeral Home.
