Bobby Lee Vaughn, a cherished son, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on May 5, 1947, in Wood County, Texas. Bobby was the beloved son of Dud Vaughn and Ruby Irene Palmer. He grew up in Winnsboro, where he developed a love for the land and a strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life.
Bobby started a successful house moving business while his adventurous spirit led him to many pursuits. Once owning a gold mine, an ostrich farm, and founded a successful oil company. He had many cherished hobbies that included arrowhead hunting, fishing, and many more. Bobby had a knack for tinkering with just about anything and loved a good challenge. He was known for his captivating storytelling, sharing tales of treasure hunting and entertaining family and friends alike. He had a generous heart as big as his hands and was a man who loved the Lord and loved reading his Bible. His family was always something he was proud of and held dear to his heart. He never hesitated to extend a hand to anyone who needed it.
Bobby attended South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, where he found community and fellowship. He took pride in his faith and the values instilled in him by his family.
He is survived by his sons, Cameron Lee, William Kelly, Ike Victor, and Ed Pud Vaughn, all of Mount Pleasant; his brothers, Kenneth Glenn Vaughn of Hawkins and Douglas Lynn Vaughn of Winnsboro; his sisters, Judy Lynn Hodges, Linda Kay Klika and Martha Irene Flores of Winnsboro, Betty Sue Scott of Sulphur Springs; along with six grandchildren; Cody Lee Barnhart of Winnsboro, Fredrick Reign Vaughn of Fairbanks, Alaska, Eryn Celeste Fikes of Bowerston, Ohio, Cannon Wesson Vaughn of Mount Pleasant, Harper Lee and Harriet Layne Vaughn of Winnfield, Louisiana. Four great-grandchildren; Sierra Grace, Conner Dwayne, Madison and Kamden Barnhart. All who brought him immense joy.
Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Kyle Aaron Vaughn, in 2023, his parents Dud Vaughn and Ruby Irene Palmer; siblings; Brenda Fay, Molly Fern, Kevin Dale, Dud Lindsey, R.C, and Sam Ed Vaughn, and Eva Evangeline Noel
Bobby Lee Vaughn will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and the love he shared with all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of resilience, kindness, and a spirit of adventure that will continue to inspire his family and friends.
