A Graveside Funeral service and Interment for Bobby Waugh, 78, will be Sunday, May 11, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Somerville Church of God with Bro. Michael Gunter and Bro. Gary Dobbs officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the graveside.
Mr. Waugh died on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at UAB Hospital. He was born April 11, 1947, in Morgan County, to Oscar Otto Waugh and Lula Mae Strickland Waugh.
He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, who loved his family deeply. He was a big hearted person and would give away his last penny. Bobby enjoyed painting, as a hobby, working in his yard, loved the Lord and was a true follower of Jesus. He also enjoyed quoting scripture. He was employed as a day laborer as a painter, prior to his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his daughter, Nikki Champion and her husband, Daniel Champion, her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include
Wife - Rita Dobbs Waugh,
Son - Keith Waugh (Akasha),
Daughter - Sarah Mackey (Dan),
Sister - Laverne Waugh Thompson,
Six Grandchildren - Michelle Scronce (Darrell), Lindsie Thompson (Dylan), Amberley Bridges (Aleeah), Kira Burnham (Austin), Kasey Champion (Jeremy), and Harley Champion.
Seven Great Grandchildren - Landon Hornbuckle, Greyson Scronce, Gunner Calhoun, Makenzie Hornbuckle, Beaux Calhoun, Grayson Thompson, and Wyatt Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Scronce, Gunner Calhoun, Beaux Calhoun, Jerry Dobbs, Brent Eaton, and Dusty Eaton.
Family wishes to express their "Thanks" to the staff at Cedar Ridge Veteran's Home, for the love they gave him in the last 6 months.
