BOBBYE CROSS Obituary
Miss Bobbye Jean Cross, the daughter of Maurice Rilen Cross Sr. and Barbara Jane Cross was born July 25, 1963, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Bobbye was raised on the south side of Indianapolis with her parents and eight siblings. Bobbye received her education through the public school system and graduated from Howe High School.
Bobbye later attended Ivy Tech Community College and received a degree in computers where she was able to land a job at Lane Bryant in the service and sales department. She then went on to work for the State of Indiana for 20 years before retiring in 2021.
Bobbye was a loving and devoted Mother. She had one daughter, Kenya Renee Jones who preceded her in death and one son, Keith Jerome McGavock Jr. and daughter-in-law, Amber McGavock.
Bobbye accepted Christ as her lord and savior as a young girl at Mt. Carmel Church. Bobbye affectionately called "Sheen" loved dancing, family time, cooking for the holidays, and traveling. She was the life of the party.
Bobbye departed this life Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of sixty-one years old. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter. Kenya Jones; siblings, Maurice Cross Jr., Kenneth Cross, and Denise Cross.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Keith McGavock and daughter-in-law, Amber McGavock of Indianapolis; her five
sisters, Elora Powell, Debra Cross, Karyn Mitchell, Kimberly Cross and Marthea Payne; two brothers, Phillip Cross Sr. and Muhammad Cross Sr. all of Indianapolis; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Bobbye will forever be in our hearts.
