Bonita (Bonnie) Jean Bacon, age 78, of Prudenville, died on Monday, October 20, 2025, in West Branch, Michigan.
Bonnie and her twin sister, Connie were born October 4, 1947, in Minot, North Dakota, to Norman and Elizabeth (Jordre) Simmons. Bonnie married David Bacon in November of 1966 in Glenburn, North Dakota.
Bonnie made a life out of making a family. Her adult children visited regularly with their children for weekend long sleepovers. She was a true leader and teacher of how to take care of family. She always spoke about her proudest accomplishment being her children. Bonnie was the glue that held them all together and taught them how to love one another.
Bonnie's hobbies included practical jokes where she would have a very distinct giggle while trying to hold it in. She loved playing cards, cooking for her family and shopping together. She loved Christmas and Christmas music and always knew how to host a crowd. She was a constant companion to her one true love, David. She valued time spent with her sister through daily calls and visits to North Dakota.
She never complained and was pleasant and polite throughout her whole battle with pancreatic cancer which she handled with admirable grace. The staff at every hospital always loved her.
Bonnie will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband, David of 59 years; daughters: Carrie (Kevin) Kloka of St. Helen, MI, Andrea (Dan) Sheridan of Roscommon, MI; sons: Aaron Bacon of Waterford, MI, Erik (Lisa) Bacon of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren: Cheyenne Kloka of Clinton Township, MI, Reese Kloka of St. Helen, MI, Austin Bacon of Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, Keira, Noah and Orion; brother, Kenny (Ellen) of Glenburn, ND. as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her twin sister Constance (Connie) Artz, brother-in-law Colin Artz, and parents.
Bonnie's family will be holding a Celebration of Life at a future date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner and Walsh Funeral Directors, Roscommon.
