"Come fly with me”
Bonita A. Hurd Blunk, a remarkable woman of 92 years, passed away peacefully in her Centerville, UT, home on May 31, 2025. Born on April 3, 1933, in Custer, South Dakota, to Lyle and Mary Bothel, Bonita grew up with a loving family, including siblings Floy, Charmaine, Lyle, and Sandy.
Bonita's life was marked by love, adventure, and dedication. She was married twice to the men she adored, Richard Hurd and Edwin Thomas Blunk, both of whom predeceased her. She is also survived by her daughters Deborah Mooney and Linda Motis, and her late daughter Becky Hurd.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Bonita instilled a love of travel and exploration in her family. She was a proud president of Trailside General Stores for several years and cherished every opportunity to fly and see the world. Her grandchildren, Michelle Larmore, Tonya Nielsen, Richard Reese, Shauna Motis, and Steven Motis, were especially close to her heart, and she taught them about the importance of family, travel, and even raccoons.
Bonita's great-grandchildren brought her immense joy, particularly Jayden DeVore, who lived with her and Deborah, and Ivy Larmore, with whom she shared a birthday. Her legacy lives on through the countless memories she created with her family.
Bonita is survived by her daughters, Deborah Mooney and Linda Motis; Son-in law Steve Motis; grandchildren: Michelle Larmore, Tonya Nielsen, Richard Reese, Shauna Motis, and Steven Motis; five great-grandchildren Jayden Devore Reese, Lexi Youngberg, Rex Youngberg, Autum Devore Reese, Dagon Reese, Ivy Larmore, as well as two great-great- grandchildren, Weston Reese Hartis and Wrenlee Reese Hartis. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We will always cherish the love she showed each of us as well as her excitement for life.
"Come fly with me, Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return."
A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2025 at Russon Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m., at the Bountiful City Cemetery, 2224 South 200 West, Bountiful, Utah.
