Donald E. Blunk

Donald Blunk, 89, of Lake In The Hills, passed away Thursday, September 18th, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on July 14th, 1936, in Maceo, KY, the son of Guy and Susan (Holland) Blunk. He is survived by his children, Mike (June) Blunk, Dave (Nancy) Blunk, and Laura (Vito) Gialo; his grandchildren, Alise, Matthew, Melissa, Evan, Luke, Delaney, and Grace; great-grandchild, Cooper; his step-children, Karen (Steve) Ferry, Sharon (Dino) Rubino, Annette (Jim) Cortez, Aileen (Vito) Troja, Tommy Gagnon, and Kenny Gagnon; his step-grandchildren, Amy, Kelly, Richard, Katie, Erika, Danielle, Michelle, Rachel, Stephanie, Allison, Kenny, and Johnny; and his step-great-grandchildren, Leo, Benjamin, Gengis, Beau, and Logan. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Patricia Kelly, his second wife, Catherine Murray; and his brothers; Guy Blunk, and Joseph Blunk. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 24th from 5 - 8 pm at James A. O'Connor Funeral Home, 11603 E Main St. in Huntley. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am with a visitation an hour prior on Thursday September 25th at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd. in Huntley. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be directed to the Alzheimer's/Dementia fund at www.alz.org.
