Bonnie Jean Dannenberg (nee Elbert), 87, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the devoted wife of George Carl Dannenberg, Jr., with whom she shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. She was a cherished mother to Jeffrey (Mary) Dannenberg, Gregory (Diane) Dannenberg, and Heidi (Brian) Lehman. Her greatest joy was her family, and she found immense happiness in being a grandmother to Dylan Dannenberg, Hannah Dannenberg, Alex Lehman, Ben Lehman, Connor Lehman, and Drew Lehman. She was preceded in death by her parents Ouida Elbert (nee Eskin) and Clyde Howard "Fussy" Elbert, and brother Michael H. Elbert (Gwen Elbert (nee Powell)).

Bonnie was born and raised in Wheeling, West Virginia. She met Carl in the eighth grade at Woodsdale Middle School, and the two became high school and college sweethearts. They graduated together from Triadelphia High School in 1955. Bonnie attended Wittenberg University, where she was a proud member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority and graduated in 1959 with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Education. She was honored with The Order of the Pearl, signifying 60 years of membership and lifelong dedication to the values of Alpha Xi Delta. She and Carl married in 1960 after graduating from college. Their early years together included brief stops in Fort Benning, Columbus, GA (where Carl served in the Army ROTC) and Cleveland, OH before they settled in Cincinnati, OH in 1961. There, they began raising their family in Anderson Township before building their cherished home on Spruce Hill in New Richmond, Ohio, where they lived for over 40 years.

Bonnie dedicated her career as an elementary teacher at Summit Elementary and Wilson Elementary in the Forest Hills School District. In 1981, Bonnie earned the degree of Master of Education from Miami University. Beyond her career, Bonnie had a deep love for travel, exploring destinations across the United States and Europe. She embraced the beauty of different cultures creating lifelong memories and friendships along the way. She also had a passion for cooking and hosting, taking great joy in bringing family and friends together in her home with warmth and hospitality. In addition, Bonnie enjoyed Broadway theater and the Cincinnati Pops. She was an avid reader as well as lifelong learner. She loved supporting and attending family events whether it be Jeff or Greg's football games at New Richmond High School or Heidi's dance recitals and track meets. She especially loved attending her grandchildrens' academic, athletic and performance events.

Bonnie's kindness, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on forever.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to Clermont County Senior Services (donate HERE) who provided merciful care.
