Bonnie Godwin was born on August 29, 1946 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Chester Carter and Pearl Lee Young Rich.
On September 29, 1962, she was united in marriage to Lonnie Godwin, who survives.
Mrs. Godwin was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed working with her church. She dedicated her time to serving as the children's administrator and was the director of Holy Baptist Christian School for 5 years in the Mount Hermon community in Savannah, Tennessee
Bonnie Godwin departed this life on November 8, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 10 days.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Lonnie Godwin; daughter, Kristi Armstrong and her husband Bob; son, Patrick Godwin and his wife Karen; son in law, Jerry Carr and his wife Donna; brother, Raymond Rich and his wife Mary; grandchildren, Luke Armstrong, Zack Armstrong, Joseph Carr, Jordan Carr, Jalen Carr, Austin Carr, Connor Godwin, and Kaylin Godwin; and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her daughters, Angela Kaye Carr and Lora Doreen Godwin and brother, Kenneth Clay Rich.
