Ava "Bonnie" Loftis Honeycutt, 72, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Guilford County on January 4, 1953 to the late Otis Bray and Annie James Loftis.

Bonnie spent her career in insurance working for Penn National and Jennings M. Bryan Insurance Agency for over thirty-one years, and retired as the Manager of Southern Insurance/Towne Insurance in Graham after seven years. She enjoyed spending time at the beach with her family and friends and played golf in her earlier years. The greatest joy in her life was being a “Mimi”.

She is survived by her devoted husband of forty-seven years, James B. Honeycutt, Jr. of the home; her loving daughter, Stacy May and her husband Wes, of Wilmington, NC; her grandson that she adored, Brayden May; her brother, Troy Lofits and his wife Winnie; her sister, Carole Lee and her husband Danny; her mother-in-law, Dolly Honeycutt, her sister-in-law, Tammie Levron, and many nieces and nephews and a very special friend, Marsha Sutton.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Greg Long. Entombment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Friday at Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory and other times at the home.

The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and staff at Duke University Cancer Center and AuthoraCare Hospice for all their kindness and compassionate care that was shown to Bonnie during her illness.

Memorials may be made to Authoracare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
