Bonnie Asher Hoskins, a loving homemaker, mother, and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the age of 83 in La Grange, Oldham County, Kentucky. Born on October 15, 1941, in Hyden, Leslie County, Kentucky, Bonnie's life was marked by her dedication to her family and her passion for cooking and gardening.
Bonnie's nurturing spirit was evident in everything she did. She took immense pride in raising a garden and growing beautiful flowers, often delighting in the fruits of her labor through canning. Her culinary skills were well-known, and she enjoyed sharing her delicious creations with loved ones. Bonnie also had a deep appreciation for music, which brought joy to her life and those around her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Wilk Hoskins of Carrollton, KY, and their daughters, Rhonda (Greg) Sutherland of Carrollton, KY, Kim Hoskins of Madison, IN, and Kristin Hoskins of Carrollton, KY. Their son, Danny (Joyce) Hoskins of Carrollton, KY, also carries on her legacy. Bonnie is further survived by her sister, Daisy James of Corinth, KY, and her brother, Jimmy Asher of Corinth, KY. The warmth and love she shared with her family extended to her twelve grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren, who will cherish her memory forever. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Lucy Hensley Asher, and her beloved grandson, Daniel Hoskins. She was also preceded by her siblings: sisters Rosie Collett, Betty Nance, Alice Beers, and Helen Asher; and brothers Pearl Asher, J.B. Asher, Jack Asher, Bobby Asher, and Walter Asher.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home, with a funeral following at 7:00pm located at 809 Highland Ave, Carrollton, KY 41008. There will also be a visitation on Saturday January 11, 2025, at 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Walker Funeral Home in Hyden, KY. Bonnie will be remembered for her loving nature, her unwavering support for her family, and the special moments they shared together.
