Bonnie S. Kemmerling

Bonnie S. Kemmerling, age 69, a woman of unwavering dedication and joyful spirit, passed away on July 15, 2025, at the Pickering House. Born with a heart full of kindness and a knack for spreading laughter, Bonnie's life was a testament to hard work and the love she held for her family and friends.

Bonnie, who proudly bore the maiden name of Crabtree, delighted in a long and fulfilling career that spanned more than three decades. She dedicated 36 years of her life to Anchor Hocking before taking a brief retirement. However, the pull of being among people was too great, and within four months, she found herself at Walmart, where she relished every minute of her time with patrons and coworkers. Her final chapter in the workforce was at Magna Seating, reflecting her keen work ethic and her unwavering desire to serve and connect with others. As a proud member of AFGW6 #144, Bonnie was respected and cherished by all who knew her.

Education was important to Bonnie; she graduated and completed two years of business school, laying the foundation for her remarkable career. Yet, it was not just her professional pursuits that defined her. Bonnie was an outspoken and funny individual, known for her sweet and kind nature, and her penchant for giving. Friends can attest that she was not only a workaholic but also someone who brought joy into every room she entered.

Family was at the center of Bonnie's universe. She is survived by her loving daughter, Sheanna (Paul Jr.) Hazlett, and her granddaughter, Malana Hazlett, who illuminated Bonnie's life and were the beacons of her world. Bonnie was also cherished by her brother, Tom (Sue) Crabtree, along with several nieces and nephews. Her home was animated by three spoiled kittens: Salango, Baby, and Kitty, who were treasured companions through her days.

Bonnie found immense joy in shopping, particularly in the thrill of finding bargains, a shared passion she enjoyed with her granddaughter. Their excursions together were filled with laughter and smiles, painting beautiful memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who loved her. Known for being easily scared, Bonnie’s friends took delight in surprising her, often delighting in her charming reactions, which reminded everyone of her vibrant personality.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her loving husband, John "Bill" Kemmerling, her son, William Terrance Kemmerling and her parents Leonard and Vernie Martin Crabtree. Their absence has left a void, yet Bonnie's legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew her.

Her visitation will be held on July 17, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service starting at 1PM at the Frank E. Smith Funeral Home in Lancaster, Ohio, ensuring that family and friends can come together to honor and celebrate the remarkable life she lived.
