Bonnie Dorean Killey

Bonnie Dorean Killey, age 94, of Vallonia, entered eternal life at 7:05 p.m. at Schneck Medical Center with her family at her bedside.
She was the daughter of Clifford and Nellie Wheeler. She married Lee Killey in May of 1946, and they were married for 54 years. He preceded her in death on December 20, 1999. Bonnie was a homemaker and housewife all her life. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and at the end of summer, she preserved large quantities of vegetables for use during the winter season. She was able to help mow her own yard up to and including the last year of her life.
Bonnie is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Robert) Hounshel; grandson, Derek Alan (Edith) Hounshel; three sisters: Pricilla Beck, Barbara Sue Lindsey, and Marie Sterling; five great grandchildren: Joshua Alan (Jacqueline) Hounshel, Zechariah Noah Hounshel, Benjamin Isaiah Hounshel, Victoria Elizabeth Hounshel, and Elijah Daniel Hounshel.
Since her two great great grandchildren (Ava Marie Hounshel & Madilyn Nichole Hounshel) lived locally, Bonnie spent many, many happy hours with them, simply enjoying their company and playful nature.
Besides her husband, Bonnie was preceded in death by three brothers: Tommy Wheeler, Don Wheeler, and Irvin Wheeler; and one sister, Minnie Tiemeyer.
Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Matt Roberts of Ratcliff Grove Christian Church officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. The burial will take place at Vallonia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Ratcliff Grove Christian Church.
Following the graveside service, there will be a dinner held at Ratcliff Grove Christian Church.
