Bonnie was born to George and Lillian (Johnson) O'Connor in Lansing, Michigan. She attended high school in East Lansing and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School in 1962 where she met John Pier. Bonnie and John married after high school graduation. After starting their family, they relocated from Lansing to Portland, Michigan where they lived for 50 years.
She retired from McLaren Hospital in Lansing (Ingham Medical) after 40 years of working in the radiology department. In retirement, Bonnie took pleasure in traveling, gardening, socializing with friends, and caring for the neighborhood cats.
Surviving are her sons, Tadd (Peggy) Pier and Aaron (Dawn) Pier; grandchildren, Miles, Zachary, Wesley, and Cassidy Pier. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John; her parents, George and Lillian O'Connor; her brother, James (Jim) O'Connor; and her very close friend, Carolyn Kimmel.
