Funeral services for Bonnie Faye (Gilliam) Sanders, age 87 of Mt. Sylvan, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Lindale. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mt. Sylvan Cemetery in Lindale.
Bonnie passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at her home in Mt. Sylvan. She was born January 21, 1938, in Abilene to the late George Washington and Myrtle Elsie (Parker) Gilliam. Bonnie has lived in Mt. Sylvan for over 50 years. She worked for 29 years in the banking industry and retired as the Assistant Vice President of the Loan Department at Southside Bank in Tyler. Bonnie was a member of The First Baptist Church in Lindale where she loved serving in any way that she could. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, working in the yard, and spending precious time with her beloved family. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Marlin Lee Sanders; sister, Joyce Louise Cain; and grandson, Justin Ross Sanders.
She is survived by her children, Tanya Wells and husband, Ronny of Lindale and Ross Sanders and wife, Lisa of Lindale; brother, Merv Gilliam and wife, Jan of Abilene; sisters, Lucille Franklin of Sherman and Nancy Murdock and husband, Jesse of Abilene; sister-in-law, Doylene Faithe Cates and husband, Harold of Jefferson; grandchildren, Jonathan Wells and wife, Heather of Lindale, Daniel Wells of Lindale, Adam Wells of Corinth, Jonie Taylor and husband, Andy of Weatherford, Jenny Sanders of Lindale, Hannah Gebel and husband, Clark of Kilgore; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Wells, Daniel Wells, Adam Wells, Clark Gebel, Jacob Hopson and Michael Hopson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronny Wells, Merv Gilliam, Craig Gilliam, Jesse Murdock, Kris Sanders, and Aaden Sanders.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Texans on Mission. www.texansonmission.org
