Bonnie Soderberg Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Caruth Village Funeral Home on Mar. 31, 2025.
Born on June 27, 1927 in Brainerd, Minnesota, Bonnie Jean Soderberg always had a deep concern for the welfare of others. Since her youngest daughter, Holly, died from lung cancer, she was found, on multiple times, approaching a stranger that was smoking and began counseling them about the risks involved. Only the Lord knows the outcome of those.
Her main concern, however, has mainly been about the salvation of everyone within her reach. Knowing the severe consequences of not being saved, she had a hard time standing idle when there was an opportunity to talk to someone about Jesus.
Bonnie, at an earlier age, was a realtor and was also involved in governmental administration, counseling and clinical referred services. As a realtor, it was not uncommon for Bonnie to counsel a young couple on how to budget their finances rather than selling their home to meet expenses. She always had that kind of love for others.
She enjoyed music ever since she was a little girl. She was already singing at an early age of about five. Her grandmother would bring her up on the stage in church and we learned later that one of the first songs she sang was, "Jesus Is All The World To Me". She also started to play the piano at an early age and was capable of playing by ear. When throwing out the name of a song to her, it was difficult and nearly impossible to stump her. Bonnie played the clarinet in high school and also mastered the organ. In addition, Bonnie was an artist with oil painting and a virtuoso when it came to interior decorating.
Bonnie had two other daughters, Kristi and Trudy by her first husband, Clarence (Click) Hinzman. Unfortunately, Clarence died at an early age from cancer.
At a later date, Bonnie met her second husband, Dale Soderberg, while having lunch at a small restaurant in Wisconsin. From the time they met they were singing duets and solos for special occasions and in churches. They moved to Hot Springs Village in 2003 and almost immediately began singing at churches, nursing homes and various organizations for over twenty years. Their favorite was performing with a Doo-Wop quartet at the Desoto Club for over four years. The Group called themselves, A Touch of Gold.
Those who knew Bonnie often received a taste of her humor and her wit. It, indeed, was a joy to be around her.
The Faith Fellowship Church, 3213 N. Highway 7, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71909 is planning a memorial service on April 12 at 10:00 a.m. The family has asked that in place of flowers, that donations be made to the church's benevolence account.
