Bonnie Irene Cornwell Werch, age 87, of Berlin, arrived in her heavenly home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.
She was born November 9, 1937, in Alvin, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Nellie Day Cornwell. Bonnie was a graduate of Omro High School and Constance School of Cosmetology. On September 15, 1956, she was united in marriage to Gordon "Corky" Werch.
Bonnie was employed by the Radford Company in Oshkosh, owned and operated Berlin Beauty Salon for several years, and was secretary to attorneys Milton Spoehr and John Selsing for 30 years combined. She enjoyed interior decorating, reading and especially traveling with Corky, her sister, Elsie Deppe and cousin, Jean Holz. Bonnie was an active member of Faith Community Church in Berlin, serving as organist and Sunday School teacher for many years.
She is survived by her son, Barry (Cindy) Werch; two granddaughters, Melissa (Dan) Van de Ven and Megan (Jason) Davis; two great-granddaughters, Halen Van de Ven and Liv Davis; two great-grandsons, Hudson Van de Ven and Trey Davis; sister, Elsie Deppe; and many nieces and nephews. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gordon Werch on December 18, 2017; sister, Violet Stegall; and two brothers, Willard and Roy Cornwell.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at Faith Community Church in Berlin. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Rev. Terry Reiser officiating. Inurnment will be in Nepeuskun Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Barbola Funeral Chapel in Berlin. Memorials may be directed to Faith Community Church and ThedaCare Hospice at Home. The family expresses their thanks and appreciation to ThedaCare Hospice at Home and Patriot Place for their excellent care.
