Bonnie L. Zampieri

Bonnie Lee Zampieri (nee Tietsort), age 91 and a longtime resident of Lorain, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 29, 2022.
Bonnie was born November 6, 1930 in Scotts Bluff, Nebraska to the late Howard and Lottie (nee Berg) Tietsort. She was raised in Idaho where she lived till she came to Ohio with her newly married sister. While in Ohio her brother in law's brother, Antonio Zampieri, came home from the military and a 65 year love was born. Sisters married brothers. Bonnie and Antonio (Red)
were married until Antonio's death in 2014.
Bonnie was employed as an assistant supervisor for 20 years at Lorain Products. She was an avid bowler and was active on several leagues. She and Antonio loved playing cards with their friends and family. Bonnie's particular skill and passion was in the kitchen. She was an excellent cook and baker and everyone was always welcome in her home for a meal. She was active in several civic and political clubs, including Quota International and Lorain Democratic Women. She was one of the original "Basket Makers" for these clubs' fundraisers and taught her skills to numerous others.
Bonnie is survived by her three children, Maria (Louis) Gesmond, Linda (John) Brennan, and Anthony (Young) Zampieri. She was dearly loved by all her grandchildren, Damien (Jill) Vitale, Michelle (Eric) Ocepek, Sarah Lyons, Kathryn (George Daniel) Biggs, David (Val) Duggan, Angela (Joseph) Bodenstein, Anthony Lee Zampieri, Christine Brennan; and her great grandchildren, Davis and Cameron Ocepek, Sam and Jack Vitale, Daniel and Dylan Lyons, David and Rhett Duggan, Ilsa and Grayson Bodenstein, Pieri Biggs, Angelique and Jaaylyn Brennan. She will be missed by her nieces, Phyllis (Ernie) Paoletti, Heather Whetsell and nephews Sam (Candice) Ciafardone, Joseph Modock, Duane (Faye) Jones, and her sister in law Joann Whetsell.
She was predeceased by her husband Antonio, her parents Howard and Lottie Tietsort, sisters, Dorothy, Doris, Velma and brother Harold.
Family will receive friends at the Andras Crematory & Funeral Home, 3900 Broadway Avenue, Lorain on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Closing prayers will take place noon on Friday at the funeral home with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery, Lorain.
