Boyce C. Bunn, of Shady Dale, passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at the age of 90. Mr. Bunn was a devoted husband and a man who found joy in life’s simple and meaningful pleasures. He loved to go fishing anywhere and everywhere, never missing an opportunity to cast a line. A skilled house framer by trade, he also enjoyed working on lawn mowers and staying busy with his hands.
Mr. Bunn had a deep love for gardening and would travel far and wide just to find flowers to bring back home. He and his wife shared a special bond and greatly enjoyed traveling together, creating lasting memories along the way. Mr. Bunn will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of the outdoors, and the dedication he showed to the people he loved.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hilda Bunn; son, Thomas Bunn; grandson, David Lackey; parents, Frank and Willie Bunn; brothers, Bud Bunn, Vester Bunn; and sister, Sarah Bunn.
Survivors include his son, Tony Bunn (Vicky); daughters, Mary Lackey (James), Marie Jenkins, Faye Sheppard; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Jerry Bunn (Sandra), James Bunn (Brenda); sister, Betty Jo McAlister (John); as well as a host of extended family members.
A Funeral Service for Mr. Bunn will be held Thursday, February 5, 2026, 11:00 A.M., at the Chapel of Caldwell & Cowan, 1215 Access Road, in Covington, with interment following in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, 3962 Salem Road, in Covington. Friends are invited to visit with the family at the funeral home Wednesday, February 4, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
